I work with students in a variety of ways. I teach two courses each semester (and a course or two in the summer). Sometimes those courses involve travel like the study abroad trip to the Dominican Republic (see photo above), the Washington, D.C. policy trip, or the summer “Dissertation Boot Camp” to Charleston.
In addition to teaching, I advise doctoral students, direct doctoral candidates on their dissertations and master’s students on their theses (see the list to the left), and serve on several other dissertation and thesis committees.
I supervise a graduate research assistant who helps with research projects. I also work with undergraduate students who have expressed an interest in working with me on research through the University’s Office of Undergraduate Research.
