The African American Experience at UofSC

For the Fall 2021 class, "Evolution (History) of Higher Education in America" (EDHE 730) students created an online tour of the African American experience at the University of South Carolina. This was inspired by Hannah White's tour that she had done as a class project. She enthusiastically supported my class expanding on her idea. We read and used as our guide the new book from USC Press, Invisible No More: The African American Experience at the University of South Carolina (thanks to the editors and the press for allowing us to use an advance copy!) supplemented by other materials.    

Ideally, this project will translate into a permanent feature on the UofSC website as a standalone tour (on the Visitor's Center site), with some parts incorporated into other places online such as the campus map. The presentations below are the final projects as created by the students in the class. The students understand that these would serve as a draft and a starting point for what will appear online and that their work will be edited and reworked.
