 In the News

You can use news articles from any reputable news site. A few examples are listed below (but you are not limited to those on this list).
  • Higher Education News: Inside Higher Education, Chronicle of Higher Education
  • National News: New York Times, Washington Post, AP News
  • Local News: The State, Post & Courier, Free-Times, Daily Gamecock

Scholarly Critiques

Articles for this assignment and for the literature review on the Trustees Project can come from any peer-reviewed journal or book. Use the Library's databases to do searches on specific topics of interest. The journals listed are examples of where you will likely find articles, but you not restricted to just these. (It will likely be easier to access the actual articles through the library but you can browse tables of contents on their sites.)
  • Review of Higher Education
  • Journal of Higher Education
  • Educational Policy
  • Some journals such as Higher Educational Policy tend to be more focused internationally and others such as the Journal of Educational Policy and Education Policy Analysis Archives tend to be focused more on K-12 education (both of which are important, but not the focus of this class), but may still have articles of interest.

Legislative Tracking

As you track your bill remember to check to see if it is covered in the news and if there are similar laws or proposed bills in other states.
  • CIHE's list of bills affecting higher education
  • Class list of who is tracking which bill. Note: No two students may track the same and no one can use any of the bills related to trustees (S. 49, S. 798, H. 4752).

Report any broken links or other problems with any files or documents to the Prof. Anderson.
